Kuala Lumpur 01 October 2025, Global Travel Meet 2025 is Malaysia's primary international forum for the tourism industry, bringing together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders from across the world. This three-day business event, held at the landmark World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, will bring together over 600 eligible buyers from ASEAN, Asia & Africa, and Americas Europe & Oceania, as well as 400 Malaysian merchants representing various tourism products and services.

Tourism Malaysia last organised a Global Meet in 2007. In his opening remarks, Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Khairul Firdaus bin Akbar Khan, stated that after nearly 20 years, the country is stronger, more connected, and ready to lead. Over 600 buyers, 400 sellers, and 100 international media representatives attended the high-profile conference in the capital. This was a rare opportunity for industry executives, airlines, and tourism boards to meet under one roof.
The event takes place at a time when Malaysian tourism is seeing considerable growth. In 2024, the country received 38 million international tourists, up 31% from the previous year. From January to July 2025, arrivals surpassed 24.5 million, with significant markets including Singapore, Indonesia, China, Thailand, Brunei, India, the Philippines, South Korea, Australia,Chinese Taipei and Indonesia and from Riau Islands Province represented by Fusion Adventure Travel Batam based Riau Ispands.
In his keynote speech, Malaysia's Deputy Minister of Tourism emphasised that numbers do not define success. The government is framing Visit Malaysia Year 2026 as the country's most ambitious campaign yet, focussing on sustainability and innovation.The program aims to attract 47 million tourists and create lasting cultural and tourism legacies.
