Patriot Transmigration in Batam Transmigration area Rempang, Galang, and Balerang.
Batam 06 November 2025. Patriot Transmigration is the Ministry of Transmigration's flagship initiative that aims to develop development cadres in transmigration areas, boost local economies, and strengthen national unity. According to the Ministry of Transmigration of the Republic of Indonesia, the program combines educational scholarships, training, and mentoring to build new economic growth centres with the participation of students, alumni, and professionals.
A meeting was recently held in Batam between Dr. Vishnu Juwono, S.E., MIA., from the University of Indonesia, who is a member of the working committee of the 14 Patriot Expedition Teams from the Indonesian Ministry of Transmigration, and seven universities.
Our result is the design of an economic institutional collaboration model for the Rempang Transmigration Area. We employ the Pentahelix approach, which includes academics, corporations, the media, local communities, and, of course, the government, he explained.
Entrepreneurs and tourism stakeholders met with Sumantri Endang, CEO of FUSION ADVENTURE and a member of the ASITA DPD Kepri,Entrepreneurs and tourism stakeholders to discuss the role of the Design Model for Collaborative Economic Institutions in the Rempang Transmigration Area, as well as the goal of creating economic activity in Batam Island's transmigration area, specifically around Rempang, Galang, and Balerang.
The goal of this project is to establish economic strength at the grassroots level so that economic mobility can occur there.
Several conversations produced the following ideas: Creating a coastal tourism town that actively engages the community in its role. This seaside tourism community will be distinctive because it is uncommon in Indonesia. Typically relying primarily on local culture, seaside tourism communities can be built that mix.Fishermen's lives include local culture and knowledge such as cooking classes, net making, fishing, trap setting, and so on. Another suggestion is to build a coastal guesthouse where guests may connect with their hosts, who will accompany them to meals and activities. Furthermore, activities that are merely day visits should be accompanied by clean restaurant facilities and exceptional professional service. Home industries, such as keropok gong-gong (shrimp crackers), tempoyak chilli sauce, and sotong chilli sauce, provide distinctive items in the region.
